Čiaunas

A 17.7- ha lake situated about 10 km north-east of Užpaliai, on its northern bank there is Rokiškis district. The trough of the lake was formed by an ice block, so its shape is comparatively compact: the greatest length reaches 0.55 km, average width 0.32 km, coastline 1.8 km, greatest depth – 8 m, the area of the basin 3 km2, the level of water fluctuates around 60 cm per year.  Pašilė rivulet flows out towards Paštys lake.  

The name of the lake is of Selonian origin, comes from the word „Kiaunas“. The lake is remote, so there are no many fishermen.
