Nemeikščiai pond

Nemeikščiai pond is situated 3.5 km south-east of Utena. It was formed when Krašuona river was dammed 6.9 km from its mouth.

The length of the pond is 2.2 km, the width up to 0.9 km. The southern end of the pond is swampy. The northern and eastern banks are overgrown with forest. On the south-western side there mainly stretch cultivated fields. On the western bank next to the dam there is a beach. Water throughput is of a shaft-type. The pond was made in 1982, the yield of the dam 18.5 m³/s, the length of the crest 640 m, the width 8 m, the height above sea level 129.2 m. The pond was installed for irrigation of fields. The villages near the pond: Nemeikščiai, Kryželiai, Griūtys, Pavyžintys.
