Staniuliškės hillfort

Staniuliškės hillfort with a settlement is in the territory of Utena district municipality, Staniuliškės, Saldutiškis neighborhood. Accessible turning right at the cross south-westward in Kirdeikiai to Staniuliškės, and when there, to the end of the road, 50m to the right in the south.  

The hillfort was built on the edge of the height, on the left bank of the rivulet Gėlainė. The site is round, 14m in diameter. The slopes are steep, 10-15m high.

At the southern foot in the area of 1ha there is a foot settlement where rough pottery was found.   After archeological explorations the finds are kept in the Lithuanian National Museum. The hillfort dates back to the I millennium BC – the beginning of the II millennium AD. The area of the monument territory 1.9ha.
