Žiežulnys

Žiežulnys – 26 ha lake in Aukštaitija National Park, about 8 km northeast of Tauragnai and 2 km southwest of Minčia village. The name comes from the Lithuanian word žiežulė – “roach fish”. The lake stretches from Northwest to Southeast 1.4 km, narrow (average width 0.19 km), shoreline length 3.1 km. The shores are high, wooded, springy. A lot of groundwater also spills into the underwater pond of the lake. The basin is wooded, the area is 30 km². The river Žiežulna flows out. In the forest, the shores are springed, and a lot of groundwater flows into the underwater pond of the lake. Next to the lake there is the uninhabited village of Liumpiškės.
